About Us

Fresh Prints started out in the attic bedroom of a student-shared accommodation flat back in 2012. The owner and manager, Jamie, was studying Sports Business Management at Leeds Beckett University when he decided to start the business.

Our business started out as a hobby but took Jamie by surprise when its popularity grew, and he realised he had created something special. After passing his first year of university, he moved premises and rented out an extra room for the ever-expanding business. He hired three friends who had already graduated to help with the workload.

In the summer of 2013, Jamie decided to push the business to another height; he acquired a small market stall opposite Leeds University City Campus. By 2014, Fresh Prints was a full-scale operation, and Jamie had to suspend his studies; he made the decision to move back to his home town of Doncaster to concentrate fully on the business.

He rented out office space and established himself in Doncaster. After only being back home for six months, an amazing opportunity arose: a disused shop became available next to his office block. After careful consideration, he decided to bite the bullet, take a leap of fate and propel the business to a whole new level.

It took four weeks of late nights and hard graft to get the shop ready for opening while still operating Fresh Prints from the offices next door. The transformation was unbelievable, and Fresh Prints Shop was born.

The gamble paid off, and the shop was a success, but this wasn’t enough. Jamie needed something to set himself out against the rest. In May 2015, the breakthrough came, and he grabbed it with both hands; no other shop in Doncaster owned a Direct Garment machine, and he knew this was the way forward. This enterprise would be a complete game changer, and in June 2015, the machine was delivered and installed; now, Fresh Prints is growing at an incredible speed.

With this state-of-the-art technology, Fresh Prints can print full-colour images onto garments and offer express service at an extremely competitive rate.

With the printing process now running at high speed, it freed up some time for Jamie to focus on another passion of his: graphic design. Fresh Prints Shop now offers a full design service catering to all your graphic design needs, which led to the venture into paper prints and signage.

Fresh Prints began to gear up to get ready to take the internet by storm.

After a very difficult 9 months Jamie & Natalie were relieved to welcome baby Max into the family, and also the Fresh Prints team. It wasn’t long before little Max was kitted up and ready for work.

Motivated and ready, Jamie started to develop an Athlete Sponsorship Programme, getting on board top sportsmen such as Dave Allen, Andy Townend, Robbie Barrett and Gavin McDonnell. Working alongside sporting professionals has allowed Fresh Prints to feature on Sky Sports 1 & 2 eight times and Sky Sports Box Office four times, shooting Fresh Prints onto the nations screens.

Following the success of the boxing bouts, Jamie teamed up with Stefy Bull Boxing Promotions and formed a strong partnership, securing stalls at his events.

With his boxing passion and his know how Jamie went on to build relations with CSFC, also securing a stall at their upcoming events.

With this venture proving a success Jamie decided to develop the Fresh Prints website further, allowing the athletes to sell their merchandise online and also launching the “WANT TO BE SPONSORED” page, opening up the opportunity to the thousands, all sports, all levels, nationwide. The response was tremendous will new applications being sent in daily.

When Fresh Prints was first founded Jamie focused on mainly heat pressed vinyl’s, but as the nature of the business has changed massively since then, so has the customer base, and the methods used. With an ever-increasing work load and added business to business work it was decided that an upgrade was to be made in the Fresh Prints Embroidery Suite.

With the only embroidery machine running at full capacity and late into the night a second machine was bought to take more of the load. This was a great relief to the embroidery staff!! Until … both of those machines were both running at full capacity late into the night.

Within weeks, the suite was crammed with brand new machines, all running 9 am-6 pm, producing high-quality stitching for the businesses of Doncaster and beyond. We are now on the lookout for bigger premises to house our machines, and we are looking to expand!

With the demand for wide format printing growing, Jamie took a trip down to his supplier’s showroom where he tested out their high performance printers to see which fit the bill. He decided on the Mimaki CJV300 160.

This machine is capable of printing up to 1.6m wide in full colour across a range of media including PVC Banners, Garment Film, Posters, Roller Banners, Signage, Canvases, plus many more. This now means that Fresh Prints can offer the full printing package, we are officially the one stop shop for all your printing, embroidery and designing needs!

With advances in the shops technology and the new machine purchases it was only natural that Team Fresh would also need to grow. We now have a diverse team of nine. which is remarkable. To think Fresh Prints started in a bedroom in student digs five years ago and look how far it has come, two premises, a limited company and now a hard-working team that are as committed to its success as the founder Jamie.

We are truly blessed to have found such a lovely group of individuals with whom to share the journey.

Another Birthday another year!!! Its now been 3 years since Fresh Prints Shop opened its doors. The shops success isn’t a miracle, it is with big thanks to everyone who has been involved, loyal customers, new clients, talented staff, dedicated family & friends.

This amazing venture started with the simple need to move the growing business out of a house; Jamie found this wonderful start-up space on Balby Road, Doncaster and set up shop. From the moment he opened the doors on 7th March 2015, printing has ruled his world. It has been extremely challenging and rewarding, and it has been a huge learning curve, but it wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for Team Fresh. Momentum is building as the shop moves into its fourth year, and they can't wait to share the journey with you! Until then.
